Sharks & seals
I suspect our expectations of how far we’ll get on this trip are slightly unrealistic!
Having left San Fransisco on Saturday morning we decided to head for Manchester, California (just up the coast, apparently).
4 hours later we were barely a 3rd of the distance so stopped for a lunch of organic burgers (for baby Vino!) then hit the beach. The sea & waves were so enticing but I reminded Tone of his encounter with Caleb & a jelly fish in the Med to when we saw the signs warning of strong undercurrents, pollution and SHARKS!!!
We did see a seal surfing the waves which reminded us of Ben Gilchrist!
Since it was past dinner time by now we headed inland and found motel 6 which reminded me of Butlins so I felt at home there. We also came back here last night after sampling wine tasting country (none for baby Vino!) and one of the many historical missions in this area…I confess to knowing nothing about the colonial history of this area so twas most informative. I did have a funny turn in the chapel though due to the crazy weather (there’s a heat wave here) & standing too long. Had to lay on a bench with my knickers showing for a bit but noone complained when I said I was preggers!
